Stephane co-founded Alphinity in 2010 with Andrew Martin, Bruce Smith and Johan Carlberg. His areas of focus are the Resources sector as well as domestic portfolio construction and management.
He was previously a Vice President and Research Analyst for AllianceBernstein’s Australian Equities Fund covering Energy and Resources from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that he was in management consulting with McKinsey & Co from 1997 to 2002 in both South Africa and Australia, leaving the firm as an Associate Principal. Before that, Stephane was a Commercial Director Asia Pacific for SAB Miller and held relationship management roles within JP Morgan (Belgium) and Standard Corporate & Merchant Bank (South Africa).
Stephane holds a Commercial Engineering degree (with high honors) from the Universite Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. He is also fluent in French and German.

Ty joined Alphinity in 2024 and contributes to the overall research and portfolio management efforts in the global investment team.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Ty was an Analyst at Aoris Investment Management in Sydney, where his research coverage spanned a variety of sectors and geographies. As a member of the investment committee, he assisted with portfolio management of a concentrated global equity fund. Prior to this, he worked at BT Financial Group in the investment research and governance team, researching fund managers and providing recommendations for use in the broader platforms and advice business. Ty was also on the Board of the New England Regional Art Museum from 2021-2023, which is home to one of Australia’s most significant art collections outside the capital cities.
Ty graduated from the University of New England with a Bachelor of Business (Business Economics) (Applied Finance) and is a CFA Charterholder.

Jacob joined Alphinity in 2020 to assist the domestic investment team with stock and sector analysis. Jacob focuses on the Consumer Staples and Consumer Discretionary sectors, as well as domestic portfolio construction and management.
Jacob was previously a Senior Investment Analyst for First State Super for several years in its Direct Equities team, where he contributed to the overall research and portfolio management efforts of its internally managed concentrated industrial equity portfolio. His direct responsibilities there were for Gaming, Insurance, Diversified Financials and Healthcare companies. Prior to First State, Jacob was an Analyst and Portfolio Manager at private wealth manager Bailey Roberts Group where he constructed portfolios of Australian equities for high-net-worth individuals.
Jacob has Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Economics) and Master of Professional Accounting degrees from the University of Wollongong and is a CFA charter holder.

Jessica joined Alphinity in 2020 to lead the newly created ESG and Sustainability function. In collaboration with all other members of the Alphinity team, she is responsible for implementing Alphinity’s five pillars of responsible investment. These areas include ESG integration, stewardship and active engagement, sustainable investing, thematic research and transparency and reporting.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Jessica was Senior Sustainability Advisor at Transurban where she was responsible for delivering strategic projects, including Transurban’s response to the Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) recommendations and supporting the delivery of sustainability initiatives to meet the company’s broader sustainability strategy. Her previous roles included Case Manager at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) and Environmental and Sustainability Consultant at SLR Consulting.
Jessica has a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management (Honours) from the University of Newcastle and a Diploma in Project Management from the University of New England.

Matisse joined Alphinity in 2024 and contributes to the overall research efforts in the global investment team.
Prior to Alphinity, Matisse worked at Hyperion Asset Management for four years in both Brisbane and Sydney offices. As a member of the investment committee, she provided fundamental research to the investment team across companies in a variety of sectors and geographies.
Matisse holds a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics from the University of Queensland and graduated with Honours Class I and a major in Economics. She is also a CFA® Charterholder.

Andrew joined Alphinity in 2024 to the newly created role of Chief Commercial and Operating Officer. Andrew is responsible for the non-investment operations of the business and as such works closely with Fidante, our administration and distribution partner.
Andrew has more than 25 years’ experience in roles spanning asset management leadership, asset consulting and distribution. Most recently, Andrew was CEO of Acadian Asset Management Australia and Head of Acadian’s Asia Pacific business. In this role, he was responsible for setting and implementing business strategy and improving operational efficiencies across the region. He is a qualified Actuary and formerly a Senior Asset Consultant at Mercer Investments.
Andrew’s education includes a BSc (First Class Hons) Mathematics from the University of Leicester and University of Texas. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Richard joined Alphinity in 2017 as Senior Quantitative Analyst, serving both the Australian and Global Equities teams. Richard was well known to both equities teams, having been a service provider to Alphinity for a number of years prior to joining.
Richard qualified as an actuary in 1998 and worked for JB Were, Goldman Sachs and RBS Australia in a range of roles before joining Credit Suisse Australia. He spent six years there, becoming Director of Quantitative Research in 2014.
Richard has a Masters in Information and Data Science degree from UC Berkeley in San Francisco. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Melbourne, has qualified as an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.

Elfreda joined Alphinity in 2020 and works closely with both the Alphinity Investment teams and the Fidante Business Development team to provide investment insights and service Alphinity’s growing client base.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Elfreda worked for Talaria Capital and spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank Equities, South Africa, including seven years as Head of Equity Sales and member of the executive committee and board. In that role she was responsible for selling the bank’s global research and other investment solutions to institutional clients as well as managing the sales team. Elfreda also spent two years as an Analyst and Project Manager Interest Rate, FX and Credit Derivates products for Goldman Sachs in New York. She started her career at Deloitte South Africa where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Elfreda is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a B-Com Accounting (Honours) degree from the University of South Africa.

Andrew co-founded Alphinity in 2010 with Stephane Andre, Bruce Smith and Johan Carlberg. He focuses on the Financials sector as well as domestic portfolio construction and management.
Andrew was previously a Vice President and Research Analyst for AllianceBernstein’s Australian Equities Fund covering the financial, transport, healthcare, tourism and leisure sectors from 2003 to 2010, as well as oversight for the management of the Australian Concentrated Fund from 2008. Prior to joining Alliance, he spent several years with JB Were Stockbroking as Senior Analyst covering the gaming and insurance sectors respectively. Previously, Andrew worked for Merrill Lynch in Corporate Finance and as an Actuarial Analyst with AMP Life.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Economics (Finance, Actuarial) from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He has also been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia since 1998.

Trent joined Alphinity as a Portfolio Manager in 2021 where he leads investment coverage for the Technology and Communication Services sectors.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Trent founded and managed a global absolute return fund focused on identifying disruptive growth themes and long-term industrial transformations. Before this Trent spent more than 10yrs at CFSGAM, where he held senior roles as a Sector Analyst and as Portfolio Manager for the Global Long Short strategy in the Hedge Fund of Funds team.
Trent has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) from the University of Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia

Andrey joined Alphinity in 2020 as a Research Analyst focusing on the Information Technology, Chemicals, Telecommunications and Industrials sectors. Andrey is also involved in the Sustainable Share Fund, including research on specific sustainable investment opportunities, company engagement through Climate Action 100+, developing fund exclusions, and participating in SSF Compliance Committee meetings.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Andrey spent more than seven years at McKinsey & Company, where he was a member of four offices (Moscow, Houston, San Francisco and Sydney) and worked on every inhabited continent, led international teams and advised both public, private and state-owned enterprises across a range of sectors at the intersection of strategy and disruptive technology. Andrey also worked extensively at McKinsey Global Institute where he contributed to research efforts such as Climate Risk & Response, How Technology Is Reshaping Resources, Future of Work, Age of Analytics, China and the World, and Future of Japan. Prior to McKinsey Andrey worked at KPMG and completed internships at the Parliament of Canada and Hudson Institute.
Andrey holds a master’s degree equivalent in International Relations from Lomonosov Moscow State University and completed an international study program at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Moana is a Senior ESG and Sustainability Analyst who contributes to the integration of environmental, social and governance risks into the investment process. She conducts research and data analysis to monitor ongoing ESG risks, controversies, emerging topics and supports Alphinity’s stewardship activities in the areas of company engagement, collaborative engagement, thematic research and proxy voting.
Moana also has an active role in supporting universe construction for Alphinity’s two sustainable strategies and completes company and thematic analysis which assists the Sustainable Compliance Committee in their decisions. She leads the annual data assurance process for both sustainable strategies.
Moana joined Alphinity in 2020 as an intern and moved into a full-time role in 2021, working across both domestic and global investment strategies. She has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Sydney, with majors in Biology, Environmental Studies and Finance.

Jonas joined Alphinity in 2015, founding the Global Equity team with Jeff Thomson. Jonas’s focus is on the Healthcare, Utilities and Materials sectors as well as portfolio management and portfolio construction oversight.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Jonas was a Senior Portfolio Manager/Analyst at AMP Capital in Sydney, Australia, where he was responsible for managing the Core Equity portfolios in the Australian Fundamental Equities team from 2011-2015, as well as covering the Australian bank sector as an equity analyst. Prior to that, Jonas worked from 2003-2010 at Swedbank Robur Asset Management in Stockholm, Sweden, managing international as well as domestic equity portfolios, and covering US and European stocks across the consumer and industrials sectors. Previously, Jonas had been at Merrill Lynch in London, UK as an equity analyst covering European media stocks. He started his career with Swedbank Markets in Sweden in 1996 as an equity analyst, covering sectors ranging from banks, industrials, property and media.
He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Gothenburg School of Business, majoring in Economics and Law.

Bruce co-founded Alphinity in 2010 with Andrew Martin, Stephane Andre and Johan Carlberg. His areas of focus are the Consumer and Property sectors as well as domestic portfolio construction and management.
Bruce was previously Vice President and Research Analyst for AllianceBernstein’s Australian Equities Fund covering the consumer, media and telecommunications sectors, from 2004 to 2010. Prior to this, Bruce held equity analyst and portfolio management positions at Zurich Investment Management and Suncorp Investment Management, focusing predominantly on the consumer and telecommunications sectors. Bruce was also Chief Investment Officer of NZI Insurance Australia. He started his career in the markets at JB Were as a Money Market Dealer.
Bruce received a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney and holds a Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Monique joined Alphinity in 2024 as a Senior Research Analyst. Her focus is on Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure and Property sectors.
Monique was previously an Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Fidelity International for five years. Her sector rotations included consumer and REITs whilst also working as the Assistant Portfolio Manager on the Fidelity Future Leaders Fund, an active mid-to small cap fund. Prior to this, she held various equity research roles including five years at Morgan Stanley as Vice President, where she was responsible for gaming and consumer coverage. Prior to that, she held roles covering emerging companies at Deutsche Bank and Ord Minnett.

Andrew joined Alphinity in 2019 as Head of Trading, managing the dealing function for the Alphinity portfolios. In this role he develops trading strategies to achieve best execution for client portfolios, while also managing cash flows and pre-trade compliance limits.
Andrew has previously worked at Alliance Bernstein, where he served 11 years in roles covering portfolio implementation and most recently as a Senior Trader responsible for Australian and Asian equities. He also held the position of Senior Trader at Platinum, specialising in Asian equities, and derivatives and currency trading. Both roles involved working collaboratively with domestic and global investment teams, both in terms of trading execution and delivery of timely stock and market colour.
Andrew holds an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland.

Jeff’s focus is on Financials, Property and Consumer Staples sectors, as well as portfolio management and construction oversight.
Jeff joined Alphinity in 2015, founding the Global Equity team with Jonas Palmqvist. Prior to joining Alphinity, Jeff worked as a global fund manager at K2 Asset Management in Melbourne from 2011-2015. Previously he worked at Thames River Capital in London (2003-2010) as a fund manager in the European team, managing absolute and long only equity portfolios, and Coronation Fund Managers in Dublin and London (2000-2003) on the European equity team as an analyst/fund manager. Jeff began his career in financial services as a general industrial analyst at Deutsche Bank Securities (1996-2000), focusing on the chemical, healthcare and media sectors.
He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young in Johannesburg, South Africa and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Stuart joined Alphinity in 2017. He focuses on the health care, transport and infrastructure sectors as well as domestic portfolio construction and management.
Prior to joining Alphinity, Stuart spent seven years as an Investment Analyst at Fidelity International Australia covering a range of sectors, including healthcare, banks, diversified financials, infrastructure and transport. Stuart spent several years in New York as Vice President with Abatis Capital and as an Associate Director at Allco Finance Group. He also worked for Macquarie Bank and KPMG in Sydney.
Stuart holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Master of Management Studies from Cambridge University, as well as being a CFA charterholder.

Chris joined Alphinity as a Portfolio Manager in 2022 and is responsible for the Industrials and Energy sectors. He has more than 17 years’ experience in international equity markets working at Citi, having been based in Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney. In his final six years at Citi, Chris was Director and Head of International Equity Sales, APAC, based in Sydney.
He graduated from the University of New South Wales with Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) degrees.

Nick joined the Alphinity team in 2022 to provide quantitative research support and assist with the trading function across Alphinity’ s global, domestic and sustainable funds.
Nick spent more than six years working as a portfolio management analyst and trader at Sydney-based fund management firms, most recently at Redpoint Investment Management and NAB/MLC Asset Management.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Honours in Finance from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Quantitative Finance from the University of Technology Sydney.

Jasmine is an ESG and Sustainability Associate, supporting the ESG and Sustainability team’s assessment and integration of environmental, social and government related topics across both global and domestic strategies. Jasmine joined as an intern in June 2024, later moving to a full-time role. Prior to Alphinity, Jasmine worked in Equity Research at Macquarie where she assisted the ESG team in a part-time role.
Jasmine holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies degrees, majoring in Finance and International Relations, from the University of Sydney.
